Welcome! I’m Suzanne, a certified urban planner and Navy veteran passionate about sustainable landscaping and community betterment. When I embarked on my own xeriscaping journey (supervised by my helicopter dog, Nina) I struggled with feeling overwhelmed by how to start planning a water-wise, native habitat on my property. I didn’t know what needed to be included, or how to start implementing the great ideas I had gathered from online resources and through free workshops my city offers for a water rebate program. I wanted to grasp the details and the big picture of where to start and what I wanted the outcome to be. Learning that I wasn't the only person feeling this way, I created XeriBloom Designs to offer thoughtfully designed, printable xeriscape planning tools for the people. A water-wise project can be anything from a small potted collection on your balcony, that unkempt parking strip, your entire yard or anything in between!
These undated tools are intended to help you get started, get your ideas and projects organized, see you through to completion and into the years of watching your plants grow and your water bill shrink. Creating water-wise and pollinator-friendly habitat on our own properties (or apartment balconies!) doesn’t have to be expensive or intimidating. It can be quite rewarding and a labor of love. No matter how small the area, every effort we make to use less water and increase native habitats in our communities counts significantly toward a place where nature and people can thrive.
Thank you. I’m glad you’re here!
